The revetment between Leasowe and Meols was first constructed in 1923 and reconstructed in 1983. Some see the defences as a blight on our natural shore line, but as much of Britain’s coast is diminishing fast, the Wirral is well protected.

The stark contrast between engineering, landscape and human activity creates an interesting visual juxtaposition, not always seen or appreciated.

Prior to my photography, people watching had always been a favourite past-time. Now I can record what my eyes see. This is a collection of random images with no coherant theme.

I had no game plan photographing the trip and simply shot what we saw. By no means a comprehensive coverage of the distance travelled. We could have stayed for days in each place but travelled the full distance in two weeks.
